Affiliate disclosure
Some links on this site are affiliate links. I earn a commission if you buy through them. It does not change your price.
That is the whole disclosure, and you will also see it stated in plain language directly above the first affiliate link on any page that carries one — not tucked away down here where nobody reads it.
How I decide what to recommend
- I recommend equipment I have bought and used at my own desk. If I have not used something, I say so and explain why it is still worth a look.
- Commission rate never decides the recommendation. Where a product I rate has no affiliate program at all, I still recommend it, and I say that it pays me nothing.
- Where I think something is a bad buy for the person reading — too expensive for what it does, or wrong for a spare-bedroom setup — I say that too. That is most of the value of a gear page.
- I do not accept payment for a positive review, and I do not publish sponsored posts dressed up as recommendations.
